PipeTrak Services Overview

Understanding the location and condition of your assets is important for compliance and operational integrity. PipeTrak – a specialized geolocation and surveying program offered by Southern Brush – uses industry-leading equipment to locate pipelines and collect geospatial data. Our crews utilize best practices to ensure a high level of accuracy and safety.

The PipeTrak program offers the following types of surveys and data collection:

  • Centerline Surveys
  • Depth-of-Cover Surveys
  • Close Interval Surveys
  • Direct Current Voltage Gradient Surveys
  • Class and High Consequence Area Surveys

Southern Brush uses a rigorous training program to ensure that our operator-qualified personnel will exceed the needs of your company. For more information please email our Customer Service Team at CustomerService@southern-brush.com

We will work with GIS and field personnel to build a program that addresses the needs of your company.

Depth of Cover Surveys
  • GPS coordinates taken with a high level of accuracy at intervals determined by the operator.

  • Data will include locator depth and other right-of-way conditions as defined by the project scope.

  • Can be performed in conjunction with other line location services.

  • Final product can be overlaid onto aerial imagery compatible with field operations.

Centerline Surveys
  • GPS coordinates taken with a high level of accuracy at intervals determined by the operator.

  • Southern Brush crews can use data dictionaries that are either provided by the operator or custom built to suit specific needs.

  • Can be performed in conjunction with other line location services.

  • Final product will provide a more accurate centerline location and can be updated as asset location changes.

Close Interval Surveys
  • OQ and NACE qualified technician will obtain the direct current pipe-to-electrolyte potentials at consistent intervals to evaluate the cathodic protection of the pipelines.

  • Data can be reported in various formats.

  • Can be performed in conjunction with other line location services.

  • Final product can be overlaid onto aerial imagery compatible with field operations.

Direct Current Voltage Gradient Surveys
  • OQ and NACE qualified technician will measure the voltage gradients in the soil above a cathodically protected pipeline to size and locate pipe coating defects.

  • Service is normally performed after PipeTrak close interval survey has been completed.

  • Final product can be overlaid onto aerial imagery compatible with field operations.
